Conference in Heaven

Personal Narrations

Joel Akin

Calgary, Alberta

What a horrible past 12 hours this has been but mainly because I've been so exhausted from being up so late I slept much of the day.

God gave me the most incredible dream of what was happening in the spiritual realm. I've never experienced anything like it. Now I had mentioned the unusual aspect of the attack. It was as if someone were stabbing me with fear, terror, chaos and each time I would relax and near sleep. I would sit up gasping for life. Well, foolish or not, I knew I had to take authority over this.

In the dream I found myself in a conference room. There were three men sitting at the table to my left though I was not able to see their faces. I was invited in to listen and allowed to hear this man dressed in black accusing me of illegal activities. He was standing on the other side of the table and behind him were a set of double glass doors which lead to the outside. I was unable to hear everything that was said but I knew they were talking about my recent activities. The man to my immediate left seemed to stand when he was defending me though I do not remember any of the conversation. At one point I interrupted the man in black and yelled, "This man was trying to kill me." And for proof I held up with my right hand a tiny imp about two feet tall by the scruff of its neck.

"That is not true your honor. He does not have the authority...." I knew he was not referring just to the creature I held in my hands but to the suffering he has made me go through over the past few months.

I awoke. What I found most powerful about this dream is that God indicated I was given a view into heaven, as I would understand it, and Satan coming in to accuse me specifically over all this authority I have been taking lately and how I do not have the right. And how I was allowed in to defend myself in the spirit realm. God indicated that little spirit I held in my hands was extremely pernicious and was the attack I had experienced during the night. Part of me is embarrassed to admit something so small could bother me but God said that a few moments after I had prayed I had gained authority over it. God called it a spirit of conflict, which I had never really heard of. I should mention God showed me how this spirit had arrived and indicated it had come specifically because of my desire to do good, ie the hospital and other things I had taken authority over. In the dream it was as if I were carrying a small child that seemed in trouble but that child was dangerous and carried a small knife which they planned to use against me.

Now when Satan claimed "He does not have the authority" referring to the imp, he was right in a way. Though that spirit could cause chaos it could not kill me. It seems this authority God has been revealing to me goes both ways. Any spirit that does not obey certain rules is cast into outer darkness. The rules appear to be written in stone for Satan.

What I find most intriguing is Satan was doing all the accusing but I did not get into trouble for my actions, beyond of course stirring up trouble with Satan. What most fascinates me is what else this dream indicates. God has brought me to a stage where I have overcome and now if I create problems he can't really come against me directly. Though in a way that was a lie and just like Satan to try and stab me while pretending all is well. I have found that each time God teaches I learn just a little more about how this authority works and the part that I seem to play.

So even though I have the 'ability to do these things God also seems to be showing me what I've been warned about for months now. Just because I can teach or preach or even heal doesn't mean I should. God will bring me the jobs when its my time but its still a lesson not to add to the burden by this desire to do good. It is hard as I've been so well trained in doing things the church way. But I must allow God to finish the work and bring me forth into His freedom.
