Genesis 6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
In July 2003 I wrote a few words about a coming cataclysm that would affect much of the United States starting by way of Cuba and coming up through Florida. Though I cannot say for sure that Hurricane
Frances is the beginning of sorrows, as foreseen in my dreams, I can say that it is coming. There will always be those who cannot accept a God who allows or even brings disaster. I know when I first started getting
dreams of sorrows and suffering upon the US and Canada and other countries I thought for sure they were works of Satan and not God. How could God allow any kind of disaster to a nation that claimed to love Him?
What is ironic is that Florida was the center of controversy in the 2000 election. For days no one really knew who the president was of the USA. There had never been an election like it in
history and each side claimed victory and each side claimed the moral right. Yet I saw it a little differently. I saw it as the balance between right and wrong, good and evil. I saw that the US, like Canada, was in
a balance between those who would choose right and those who would give in to the demands of the flesh. Of all the 50 states in the US it came down to Florida.
Now, just a few months before the election of 2004, it seems as if this split in the nation is more divisive now then at any time in history. Perhaps even as much as the split that lead to the
Civil War where it was a spiritual battle between freedom and slavery. We are quick to find ways to leave God out of the equation and yet I am firmly convinced that God has not left Himself out as the solution. It
may be the answer is not the Republicans or the Democrats. Perhaps it is another idea that has not even come to our minds.
But I do know this. If unprecedented disaster comes upon Florida and if the land of oranges and ocean beaches is devastated and millions of lives are at stake, will it then wake us up enough to
pray? Will we then, as a nation, cry out to God for healing in our land and among ourselves?
It is ironic that you will not find the words disaster, cataclysm, or devastation in the scriptures but you will find the word destruction 92 times. Among those scriptures is this one
Pr 1:27 - When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
Destruction is coming to America and to Canada. The question is not if but when. Is there any hope? Actually I think we are at the crossroads and the path we choose in the next few months will
determine once and for all the road we have to walk. I do not think it will come lightly nor easily. I believe that destruction will come like the whirlwind and the Hurricane. It will come at night and that which
men fear will come upon them. I am convinced that when it strikes it will not go away with a simple prayer this time. We have walked too far away from the center, too far from the place that Christ would desire of
us. Until we return to the center we will find that our days are filled with terror and our path with darkness.
God never does anything by chance. You will find 999 scientists who will say that the storms are due to global climate change and one who will dare to say it is because of sin. It is the belief of man
that he can meet any challenge and meet any calamity but God scoffs at the fool. How often have we had that chance to put God first and in His mercy He has said, "Come unto me..." But we with arrogant tilt of our
chin have ignored Him again and again to fulfill our desire and our cry. But I hear the voice of the Lord who says, "I, even I do bring the flood of waters upon the earth..." And though He will not destroy all
flesh yet He will bring tribulation, sorrows, wind and earthquake to shake us from our slumber.
If this is not the beginning of sorrows then surely it must come soon. He will not have a bride that is covered in filth from the sins and darkness of this world but those who have purified themselves
by and through the blood of Christ. We must awake for there is little time left. We must awake from our slumber lest the destruction catch us unaware. We must wake up before it is too late and there is no where to
flee or too run.
I have never written words such as these yet Gods fire burns in me to speak forth. We are at the crux of the greatest battle and greatest cataclysms that the world has ever seen. There will be trials
and sorrows and sufferings that must be dealt with and must be endured. I wish there was an easy way out but those who choose the easy path will find that it leads only to greater destruction. God help us to choose
right because those who do not will stumble in darkness. And all those who follow them shall also fall into darkness and into depths of despair.
