Exodus 7: 10 And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.11 Then
Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. 12 For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but
Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. 13 And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
Western Civilization has become a land of skeptics towards the workings and powers of God. The idea that there is a God who is responsible for weather, earthquakes, hurricanes, storms and so forth is
mocked at. Why is this? Why have we turned our backs on God?
I believe one of the reason is the power of reason and logic. If we can figure something out then we can explain it away. I know there are a lot of Christians confused by what they hear on the news.
There are so many scientists who can point to historical records and prove that we've experienced all these things before and there is nothing new under the sun.
Recently in prayer I asked God why this is so. Why is it so hard for people to believe and trust in God? Why do the leaders not speak any more of judgments of God? Why are scientists able to explain
away things no matter how badly they get for us on earth? His answer surprised me. He said that toady's scientists have become the magicians of Egypt.
To understand this one must realize that the magicians and wise men and sorcerers of Pharaoh's time had their own gods and beliefs. In fact they had multiple gods but none of them were the true God of
heaven and earth.
Now I'm not an expert on these magicians but they had the capability of today's magicians in many respects and had probably discovered certain scientific principles in their exploration of the
unusual. Thus no matter what God did through Moses the magicians were able to explain away or reproduce on a smaller scale the works of God. If a human being can figure these things out and even reproduce many of
them then there must not be too much too it. Right?
Don't get me wrong. I think Science has its place and its nice to have an idea of why things work. But pure science, as they call it today, has deliberately left out the God of heaven. A good way to
understand this is like talking about one of our creations like a car or painting and describing it down to the last brush stroke or wheel mount and saying, "Isn't it marvelous what has evolved through long eons of
time due to mechanical forces in the depths of primordial metals..." Sounds insane and people who accept evolution are...well you finish the sentence.
One of the things we learn from Pharaoh is this. That he had no answer to God and to these miracles. But the scientist of his day could explain away and reproduce the similitude of the rod turning
into a snake and vice versa. And because they could explain it this new God was apparently no better or stronger then any of theirs.
As we read the story in Exodus we find the plagues growing every bigger and stronger until finally even Pharaoh and his magicians had to admit that this must truly be the hand of God. Think about it.
Here are the scientists of Egypt arrogant in their beliefs and understanding. Able to confidently explain away and reproduce the works of Moses and his rod. How humiliating for them to finally admit that Moses' God
was real and how it must have grated them in their hearts. God is real? Who woulda thunk!
Today our science has created their own gods. Gods of evolution, gods of archaeology and paleontology. Though they have ample evidence of a real God they erase from texts and books and history any
hint of the true God because it then forces them to add him into their equation. The equation which states, "I am God..." But they like Egypt's magicians will be confronted with reality and they will finally state,
"This can only be the hand of God... and we cannot reproduce His works or the might of His power."
Expect the plagues to fall upon mankind. Expect the disasters around the world to increase and know that scientists will explain them away. It doesn't matter how bad they are, or how horrible they get
the disasters will come, the plagues will come, the tribulations and sorrows will happen. And this worlds magicians shall explain these things away at natural laws which have struck our planet many times in the
past. And if sins are pointed to it will not be sins of the heart but actions due to environmental devastation's. Don't get me wrong. I believe we should be better caretakers of our environment but we could be the
best gardeners of this planet and if our hearts were sinful judgment will still come.
At this point we have two choices. Do we listen to the voice of logic and reason which says these are natural occurrence's and listen to the scientists explaining them away? Or do we listen to the
Spokesman for God, whoever they are, which states these are Gods judgments for our sins? In reality these are the only two real options left for us.
So what can we expect to come upon the land? Not only will there be massive destruction beyond anything we've yet experienced but also invasions even in countries that have never experienced it such
as America. Just as in the days of Sodom God is trying to bring out his own people from the city that is going to face judgment. If we listen to the scientists explain away the judgments and listen to their voices
we shall be lulled to sleep. And when Gods final judgment falls we will be caught unawares and remain in slavery or face terrible judgment along with everyone else because our hearts have been hardened just as it
was with Pharaoh.
There is little time left. The judgments have already started. Some of the worst events and dark days are yet to come. We have seen nothing so far. These small judgments, even the events with the
Tsunami in Asia are only initial warning signs. Events are coming where the entire world shall face tribulation and billions shall die and suffer greatly.
Yet there shall be another voice raised up in the last days. The Bible speaks of the two witnesses in Israel. Know also God shall raise up other witnesses for the Gentile nations. Though they may vary
in levels of authority great signs and wonders shall follow them also. Listen to what they have to say for they shall speak to the church to call her forth from Sodom and from Egypt. If we listen we shall perhaps
find a measure of safety. If we do not listen or delay we shall then be caught in the conflagration that follows. And we shall either lose our lives or become slaves in a very angry Egypt.
