The heartless fools
April 1, 2006
Joel Akin
So you think fighting against God makes you a fool. And you are right. Fools process information with one unwitting thought, "What's for lunch
and what can I do that's mean." Like court jesters of old they laugh and launch their pitiless measures of spittle towards the throne and then claim "There is no god because god would help these poor mortal fools on
earth below..."
And so like some triumphant elephant throwing out its trunk and blasting its horn they parade through the streets cronking out a thought 'April
fool, April fool, April fool."
So is that how the so called April fools day began? Lets just say that time will tell who the first fool was. And why the fool said in his heart
there is no God.
But I bring up a point for those of us who suffer and those of us who are maligned by spiritual fools of the utmost kind. Where are you when God
made the universe. I know God was there and I know God made all things. Moses was clear on that. But somewhere in there was the dust for joel akin.
Its true that I did not exist nor was I yet conceived. Maybe God knew of me but if so he never mentioned it. And if I existed in some form
perhaps I was like a bubble of thought waiting to be sent out to the world below. A bubble waiting to be burst and filled with air or hope.
Sometimes when its a heartless story with no passion we have to ask why. Think of it as a dreamer who is waiting for his ship to come in. He
tells his family everyday "i'm going to the sea to wait for the ship to arrive." And everyday they wish the ship would arrive so they could send him on his way.
But one day his nasty neighbor comes and shakes him awake and whispers excitedly "I see a ship on the horizon and it has your name written on it.
Hurry and awake for it has come."
And so he rushes to the seashore and stares with all his might into the morning darkness and sees nothing but waves.
Is life the ever present April fools for fools who refuse to give up on their vision? Is April fools the foolish venture of a desperate soul that
cries out from his heart for life?
Every one of us souls is a cry in the night. We cry out from a broken heart waiting for the sound of He who is, was and will be to speak forth.
We listen with all our might but the dream eater comes and steals away all that is good, precious and pure. They get indigestion and we have our dreams stolen and broken by spirits intent on destroying the things of
God.
Yet I can't seem to find a way to break free yet but I know one who will help me. It is he who says face them and fight and give them a punch in
the nose. One where they cry and weep and have faith in God again. For they need pain and suffering not to destroy but to heal. As one who knows pain and suffering I can tell you how much it hurts. It brought me low
that I might be able to hear and to see the things of God.
You see it was God who told me to travel to the sea. It is God who told me to wait by the shore and he who told me to wait for my ship. Now the
ship may come but even if it doesn't God will provide a way for me to travel to the far side. and if the far side is Gary Larson or Jesus Christ will depend on if I survive the coming story. That story is when Jesus
comes home to take up his rightful place in this world. It will come in a day like an April Fool day when men least expect him. It will come when none are looking but one perhaps. Maybe a fool who is told there
is no God and there is no one who loves him. Maybe this day is the day. The day when the mean neighbor woke me up to state that my ship had come in. It would be cruel for heaven to join in the joke. It would be
cruel to add malice to malice for even in alice's wonderland there is hope that God is real. The looking glass takes you to the third heaven where all your dreams come true.
And if God is real, and he is, then all those nasty bad men who worked for the queen will find themselves torn apart by He who is, was and will
be. No one need fear for this is the day of the Lord and he is no fool nor does he need to play with fools or suffer them gladly.
